ASSISTANT BINDERY OPERATOR
York, PA
2nd Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

About the Position
Our client is creates marketing and communication solutions from start to finish. They are currently looking to bring on team members to fill an exciting role of Assistant Bindery Operator.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead operator in the set-up of each job as directed
  • Assist in making the necessary adjustments to and operating of the bindery equipment as instructed
  • Assist with the maintenance and inspection of the equipment as scheduled
  • May assist in operating a variety of bindery equipment such as folder, stitcher, cutter, automatic adhesive binding machine
  • Assist in performing such functions as vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and delivering or stacking completed books, magazines, or other completed products
  • Maintain a high degree of motivation and morale, departmental, and inter-departmental cooperation
  • Maintain and comply with policies, procedures, and practices related to bindery operations and job duties
  • Follow all required safety procedures such as PPE, ergonomics, chemical hazards, etc.
  • Participate in required training as scheduled
  • Assist with general housekeeping of the facility related to the bindery operations

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in print and bindery technology or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic knowledge of bindery fundamentals and bindery operations required
  • Knowledge of same or similar equipment and its capabilities preferred
  • Ability to read and understand job specifications required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to read a ruler required
  • Ability to stand throughout the entire shift
  • Regularly operates a computer and press equipment.
  • May operate other equipment such as hand truck, pallet jacks, etc. to move materials
  • Lift up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs often
